U.S. energy companies added six oil rigs in the week ending Aug. 16, bringing the total count to 770, General Electric Co.’s Baker Hughes energy services firm said in its closely followed report on Friday.

 

The gas rig count declined by four rigs to 165 rigs for the week, compared to 186 gas rigs a year earlier.
