ACWA Power was selected to develop 70% of Saudi Arabia’s renewable energy needs, CEO Marco Arcelli told Asharq Bloomberg in an interview.

 

This will require the building of 60-80-gigawatt (GW) power plants by using renewable energy sources and about 30 GW gas-fired plants, he added on the sidelines of the Saudi-European Investment Forum.

 

The utility worked on developing its technologies by benefiting from the experience of some European countries. It developed this technology in Saudi Arabia and is now trying to deploy it worldwide. It decarbonizes the economies of 14 countries.
