Iran's ambassador to the United Nations on Sunday accused the United States of waging war against his country under "absurd pretext" during an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council.

 

Amir Saeid Iravani told the emergency meeting on the US strikes against Iran that the United States, a permanent member of the Security Council, had once again resorted to the unlawful use of force and launched a war against his country under fabricated and baseless pretexts, including the claim of preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
