US trade deficit rose 5% in February

The US trade deficit in goods and services widened in February as imports rose at a faster pace than exports, reflecting continued volatility in foreign trade, according to data released Thursday by the US Commerce Department.

US imports continued to rise, driven by increased demand for technology components, particularly semiconductors, amid accelerating investments in artificial intelligence (AI).
