Vision 2030: Commercial registers rise, driven by emerging sectors

The business sector in Saudi Arabia witnessed a notable transformation in 2025, driven by the implementation of the new Commercial Register Law, which came into effect on April 3, 2025.

During its first six months, the law helped streamline business operations by introducing a single commercial registration covering all activities and eliminating branch registers, thereby reducing financial burdens on enterprises.

This also led to the cancellation of around 108,000 branch registers, the conversion of 666 licenses into instant issuance, and the issuance of more than 500,000 electronic codes. Additionally, 189 new digital services were introduced via the business platform.

The number of active commercial registers increased from 1.6 million in 2024 to 1.8 million in 2025.

At the same time, emerging sectors recorded growth in the number of commercial registers—particularly in technology, entertainment, and financial activities. This reflects the economy’s shift toward diversification, digitalization, and expanding investment opportunities under Vision 2030.
