Vision 2030: Saudi renewable capacity reaches 64 GW by end-2025
Saudi Arabia’s renewable energy sector has expanded rapidly, driven by initiatives to diversify the national energy mix and capitalize on the Kingdom’s abundant natural resources.
The Kingdom has developed major projects across wind, solar, and hydrogen, achieving competitive results at the local, regional, and global levels.
Total renewable energy capacity tendered in Saudi Arabia reached about 64 gigawatts by the end of 2025, spanning wind, solar, and energy storage projects.

Renewable projects in the Kingdom have also set global benchmarks for low electricity generation costs. The Al Shuaiba solar project recorded the world’s lowest cost at 1.04 US cents per kWh, followed by the Najran solar project at 1.09 cents per kWh.
