Masayoshi Son, CEO of SoftBank Group, held talks with French President Emmanuel Macron on launching a large-scale artificial intelligence (AI) data center project in France, Bloomberg reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.

Son is considering multibillion-dollar investments in France as part of SoftBank’s plans to expand its global AI infrastructure, the report said.

The sources added that Son raised the possibility of investing up to $100 billion in France, although the final amount could be lower if the group prioritizes other projects.
