Riyadh ranked first among Saudi cities in terms of homes occupied by Saudi households, with around 1.08 million units.
The number of homes occupied by Saudi households increased by around 118,000, or 2.7%, in 2025, to 4.5 million.
Housing units occupied by Saudi households accounted for 50.3% of total occupied dwellings, with the Saudi household size averaging 4.8 persons, according to the Housing Statistics Bulletin 2025 issued by GASTAT.

The most housing units occupied by Saudi households are connected to essential public utilities, with around 95% linked to the public electricity grid, 78% connected to water networks, and about 67% connected to sanitation systems.
