Cryptocurrencies mixed as Fed rate fears weigh on sentiment

Cryptocurrencies traded mixed on Wednesday as investor sentiment weakened amid growing expectations of further US interest rate hikes and Citigroup's downgrade of its price forecasts.

Bitcoin traded above $58,500 after falling earlier in the day to $57,742, its lowest level since September 2024.

The world's largest cryptocurrency by market value is now trading more than 50% below its all-time high of over $126,000, reached in October 2025.
