Baker Hughes: Global oil rig count rises in June

Global oil and gas rigs outside North America posted a monthly increase.


The global oil rig count increased by 61 year-on-year (YoY) in June, bringing the total to 1,822 rigs, Baker Hughes data showed.

 

The oilfield services company also reported that the number of drilling rigs in the Middle East increased on a monthly basis to 488 rigs, 13 rigs lower compared to the same month last year.

 

The global oil and gas rig count, excluding the United States and Canada, also rose month-on-month (MoM) but 2 rigs lower than a year earlier, at 1,073 rigs.
