Real estate deals up at SAR 23.7B in June

The value of real estate transactions in the Saudi market increased 8% in June 2026 to around SAR 3.7 billion, from SAR 22 billion a year earlier.
The rise was driven by a 24% rise in the value of non-residential real estate transactions to SAR 8.7 billion from SAR 7 billion in June 2025. Meanwhile, the value of residential deals remained unchanged year-on-year (YoY).
Residential transactions accounted for around 63.5% of the total value of real estate transactions during the month, while non-residential transactions represented approximately 36.5%, according to the Real Estate General Authority (REGA).

The number of real estate transactions saw an increase of 18% YoY, with both residential and non-residential sectors recording rises of 18% and 21%, respectively.

Land plots accounted for the largest share of residential transactions in June, with deals totaling SAR 7.3 billion, representing about 49% of the total value. Apartments and villas followed with SAR 2.8 billion, and SAR 2.3 billion, respectively.
The value of residential transactions showed mixed performance across all property types compared with a year earlier, with residential floors recording the strongest increase, rising 46% year-on-year.

REGA explained that liquidity was concentrated in major regions, with Riyadh accounting for 34% of total transaction value, followed by Makkah (27%) and the Eastern Province (14%). The three regions together made up 86% of total real estate transaction value.

The number of rental contracts in Saudi Arabia rose 48% year-on-year (YoY) in June 2026 to 330,400, driven by growth in both residential and non-residential leases.
Residential lease contracts increased 42% YoY to 261,400, while non-residential lease contracts surged 75% to 69,000.

Makkah came second with 104,800 transactions (27%), followed by the Eastern Province with 61,400 transactions (16%).
