Housing Ministry: 63,000 Saudi families become homeowners in H1 2026

More than 63,070 Saudi families moved into their first homes in the first half of 2026, including about 12,000 in June, the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing said.

In a statement, the ministry said about 48,630 Saudi families benefited from the Sakani housing program during the six-month period, including 10,160 in June.

The total number of supported residential contracts for Sakani beneficiaries since the program's launch in 2017 reached about 1.05 million by the end of June 2026. The program continues to offer a range of housing options, including ready-built homes, under-construction units within off-plan sales projects, self-construction, and residential land, it added.

The ministry also said the housing sector's efforts helped increase the homeownership rate among Saudi households to 66.24%, reflecting continued progress toward the Housing Program's target under Saudi Vision 2030 of achieving a 70% homeownership rate.
