Gold settles flat, silver gains 1%

Gold prices ended Wednesday's session little changed as investors stayed cautious ahead of the US Federal Reserve's interest rate decision, while renewed tensions in the Middle East revived inflation concerns.

US President Donald Trump threatened strong military strikes against Iran after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps targeted US forces in the Middle East, extending the rally in oil prices.

On the monetary policy front, the Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged, as widely expected. However, support from three members of the Federal Open Market Committee for a rate hike fueled market concerns about a potentially more hawkish policy stance.
