Gold prices rise as dollar steadies

Gold futures edge higher after the Fed holds rates steady, while markets trim September rate hike expectations to 65%.
Gold futures climbed during Thursday's trading after the US Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged, in line with broad market expectations.
Meanwhile, the US Dollar Index, which measures the greenback against a basket of six major currencies, was little changed at 100.91.
According to CME's FedWatch Tool, markets are now pricing in a 65% probability of a rate hike in September, down from 81% before the Fed's policy decision.
Investors are also awaiting the release of US core Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index data later today, with forecasts pointing to a slowdown in the Fed's preferred inflation gauge to 0.2% in June from 0.3% in May.
