Brent may trade between $80-90 depending on Middle East geopolitics: Goldman Sachs

US investment bank Goldman Sachs expects Brent crude to trade within a range of $80 to $90 per barrel for the time being, depending on geopolitical developments in the Middle East, Reuters reported.

The bank noted on Tuesday that price action is likely to remain bound within this range until greater clarity emerges—either through the confirmation of a new nuclear agreement between the US and Iran, or a major escalation in regional attacks.

It also highlighted that its baseline estimate assumes a fair value of $80 per barrel for spot Brent crude, adding that global oil markets are currently pricing in only a modest risk premium.
