Initial claims for US unemployment claims edged lower in the week ended Aug. 22, signaling ongoing stability in the labor market.
New filings fell to 203,000 from a revised 207,000 in the prior week (upwardly adjusted by 1,000), coming in below market forecasts of 208,000, according to US Department of Labor data released today, Aug. 27.
