US goods trade deficit widens to highest since March 2025


The US merchandise-trade deficit widened in July to the highest since March 2025, as it grew more than 17% from the prior month, amid lower exports and higher imports, Commerce Department data showed on Thursday.

 

The data also showed a 1.3% month-on-month and 5.7% year-on-year rise in wholesale inventories.
