Cryptocurrencies rise, BTC trades at $78,000

Cryptocurrencies

Cryptocurrency prices rose on Thursday as investors focused on the US jobs report due Friday for signs about the health of the economy and the outlook for monetary policy.

Phong Le, CEO of Strategy, expects Bitcoin to reach $260,000, saying the company could continue buying the cryptocurrency even after it hits record highs.

He told Bloomberg that Strategy, the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, strengthened its balance sheet by selling small amounts of the cryptocurrency, while confirming that the company resumed its purchases after a 10-week pause.
