Cryptocurrencies rose as markets monitored tensions in the Middle East

Cryptocurrencies rose during Monday’s trading as markets monitored tensions in the Middle East and continued disruptions to shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.

Following US data showing an acceleration in consumer price inflation in August, traders increased their bets that the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates this week, with the probability reaching 86%, according to the FedWatch Tool.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong expects Bitcoin to reach $400,000 by the end of 2030 after rising 23% in August, according to The Motley Fool.
