SIC: Commitments near SAR 1B; 3 deals executed in 2026

Mazen Alghamdi, Head of Investment at SIDF Investment Co. (SIC), said the company’s total investment commitments, including deals that have been completed or are nearing completion, are approaching SAR 1 billion.

Speaking to Argaam on the sidelines of the Money20/20 Middle East conference in Riyadh, Alghamdi said the company’s latest disclosed investment commitments exceeded SAR 800 million.

He added that the company plans to announce an update on the size of its investment commitments by the end of this year.

SIC has announced three investment deals since the beginning of 2026, including an investment in BRKZ, a company specializing in the digitization and provision of platforms and solutions for delivering construction tools and materials to project sites, as well as financing solutions.

The second deal involved an investment in Khwarizmi Venture Capital Fund II, which focuses on venture capital investments in industrial sectors and startups operating in the industrial sector.

Moreover, SIC also announced an investment in the Growth Catalyst Fund, a private equity fund focused on investing in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Saudi Arabia.

Alghamdi said the company’s investments span a range of asset classes, stressing that its focus is on the industrial sector and opportunities that support it, rather than on any specific investment asset class.

On private-sector participation, he said the company measures the impact of its investments by the amount of private capital they attract. For every SAR 1 invested by SIC, SAR 3 in private-sector investment is mobilized.

Turning to investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia’s industrial sector, Alghamdi said the company assesses each opportunity based on its economics, the level of demand and gaps in the market, as well as the competitive advantage that could be created through the investment.
