Saudi holdings of US T-bonds down $120M to $142.4B in July

Saudi Arabia maintains 17th rank among largest holders of US debt in July.


Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasuries fell $120 million month-on-month (Mom) in July 2026 to $142.4 billion, according to the US Department of Treasury.
 
The Kingdom maintained the 17th ranking among the largest holders of US debt in July.
 


Holdings of long-term bonds reached $110.2 billion, representing about 77% of the total, and $32.2 billion in short-term bonds, making up nearly 23% of the total.

 

Japan remained the largest holder of US Treasuries at $1.103 trillion, followed by the United Kingdom with $998.3 billion.
