Bitcoin retreats from 8-month high

Bitcoin retreats from an 8-month high to trade near $85,500

Cryptocurrencies fell in Tuesday’s trading, with Bitcoin retreating from an eight-month high, although it continued to trade near the $85,500 level.

Bitcoin had climbed to $87,381 yesterday amid improving investor sentiment and increased demand for riskier assets.

Rich Rosenblum, co-founder of cryptocurrency market maker GSR, said breaking above the $80,000 level brought capital back into the market, warning that a pullback in risk assets could put significant pressure on Bitcoin, Bloomberg reported.
