Oil prices fell on Friday as markets assessed the possibility of a ceasefire between the US and Iran.
US and Iranian negotiators in New York are discussing a phased path to end the war that could involve reopening the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for Washington lifting its economic blockade on Iran, Reuters reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.
US oil rigs rose for a fourth straight week, increasing by three units this week, data from Baker Hughes showed.
