Cryptocurrencies slide, Bitcoin falls more than 2%

Bitcoin Currency

Cryptocurrency prices declined in Monday’s trading session as investors’ risk appetite dampened amid growing inflation concerns, reinforcing expectations that US monetary policy could remain tight.

Bitcoin fell more than 2% to trade below $83,000, bringing its year-to-date losses to more than 5%.

Markets are awaiting several US economic indicators this week, including the Federal Reserve’s preferred inflation gauge, the private-sector jobs report, and non-farm payrolls data.
