Crypto prices rise over 1%

Major cryptocurrencies gained more than 1% on Monday after US jobs data eased expectations for further Federal Reserve rate hikes


Cryptocurrency prices rose more than 1% in Monday’s trading after US jobs data released Friday eased pressure on the Federal Reserve to continue raising interest rates.

 

Traders now see a 22% probability of a Federal Reserve rate hike in October, down from 64% a week ago, while markets continue to price in an 87% probability of a rate hike in December, according to the CME FedWatch tool.

 

Bitcoin is currently trading above $86,000, narrowing its year-to-date loss to just 1.36%.
