Gold, silver rise as dollar, Treasury yields retreat

Gold and silver rise as dollar weakens
Gold and silver prices rose on Tuesday, supported by a weaker dollar and lower US Treasury yields, as investors awaited the release of the Federal Reserve’s September meeting minutes.
The 10-year US Treasury yield turned lower during Tuesday’s session after climbing to its highest level in more than two decades on Monday, while the dollar fell from a one-year high, supporting precious metal prices.
Investors are now awaiting the Fed’s meeting minutes, due Wednesday, for clues on the potential path of monetary policy, as market bets on an interest rate hike this month have declined following weaker-than-expected job growth in September.
