Zakaty receives SAR 2.3 mln in one week

Zakaty, a zakat payment web portal, received more than SAR 2.3 million from 580 taxpayers during the first week of its launch, the General Authority of Zakat and Tax (GAZT) said.
The collected amounts were referred to the social insurance program to be disbursed to its beneficiaries, it said.
Zakaty provides an easy, fast and trusted zakat payment method to taxpayers in and outside the Kingdom.
It also allows taxpayers to know the channels through which their zakat will be spent, it added.
