U.S. energy companies added two new oil rigs in the week ending on Dec. 28, bringing the total count to 885, General Electric Co.’s Baker Hughes energy services firm said in a report on Friday.

 

The number of gas rigs also increased by one rig from the previous week to 198. Gas rigs stood at 182 a year earlier.
