PIF-led consortium completes Electronic Arts acquisition

PIF has been a major investor in Electronic Arts for more than five years.

Electronic Arts (EA) completed its acquisition by an investor consortium led by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), alongside Silver Lake and Affinity Partners.

Under the terms of the transaction, Electronic Arts shareholders will receive $210 per share, according to the company’s statement.

Following the completion of the deal, trading in the company's shares has been suspended, its Nasdaq listing has been terminated, and Electronic Arts has become a privately held company owned by the consortium.

Turqi Alnowaiser, Deputy Governor and Head of the International Investments Division at PIF, said the fund has been a major investor in Electronic Arts for more than five years, reflecting its confidence in the company's future, portfolio of sports and video game franchises, and intellectual property.

He said PIF sees significant opportunities for Electronic Arts to continue growing and expanding, adding that the entertainment and sports sectors are among the fund's strategic priorities and among the fastest-growing industries globally.

Alnowaiser said the acquisition reinforces PIF's strategy of building long-term partnerships with leading global companies, positioning the consortium to support Electronic Arts' management team, sustainable growth and innovation across the gaming industry.
