Tareq Amin, CEO of HUMAIN, said Saudi Arabia has several competitive advantages that position it to capitalize on artificial intelligence (AI), foremost among them its abundant energy resources.

Speaking at LEAP 2026 on Monday, Amin said the foundations for scaling AI include energy, capital, geography and people, emphasizing that Saudi Arabia has all the necessary capabilities to expand in the sector.

He noted that HUMAIN, a subsidiary of Public Investment Fund (PIF) specializing in integrated AI solutions, has made significant progress in a short period and continues to grow, supported by the Kingdom’s substantial capabilities in AI.

Amin said AI is driving the biggest transformation in history, adding that investment in AI infrastructure represents the largest investment ever, exceeding trillions of dollars.

He added that around 40% of work is currently being performed through AI and that this percentage is expected to accelerate soon.

The CEO stressed that this does not necessarily mean a negative impact on the labor market, as future jobs will become more advanced.

Amin said he is not concerned about AI’s implications for the labor market, noting that workers will continue to perform important activities that contribute to further innovation.
