Bitcoin rises as markets weigh Middle East truce prospects

Most cryptocurrencies gained ground during trading today, April 21, as markets assessed the prospects of the truce between the US and Iran, which is nearing its expiration later today.

 

Bitcoin climbed 0.35% to reach $76,545.81 at 12:20 pm Makkah Time, commanding 59.7% of the total cryptocurrency market value.

 

However, Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap, edged down by 0.15% to $2,327.29.

 

Elsewhere, Ripple (XRP) increased by about 0.85% to $1.44.
