Cryptocurrencies retreat; Middle East tensions ease

Bitcoin

Cryptocurrencies fell on Friday despite US President Donald Trump's announcement that a settlement had been reached to end the war with Iran, with the agreement expected to be signed in the coming days.

Despite the decline, bitcoin remained near the $63,000 level and was on track to post weekly gains after a recent selloff triggered by Strategy's disposal of part of its cryptocurrency holdings.
