Saudi Arabia to issue regulations for electric cars in 6 months

The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) will adopt technical rules to regulate the use of electric vehicles (EVs) in the Kingdom within six months, Aleqtisadiah newspaper has reported, citing deputy governor, Saud Al-Askar.
The organization’s board approved a regulation blueprint last week, Al-Askar said, adding that it had received requests from companies willing to launch EVs in the local market.
