Over 12,000 families benefit from Housing Rent Support Program in H1 2026

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing (MOMAH) announced that more than 12,000 families benefited from the Housing Rent Support Program during H1 2026.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), MOMAH said the program covers citizens who are unable to pay housing rent in cases specified by a Cabinet decision, namely families of deceased persons, prisoners, patients, and those with limited financial means. Each case is reviewed by the relevant committee before the support is approved.

It added that eligibility for the program requires a documented residential lease contract registered on the e-rental services platform, Ejar, as an enforceable instrument, in addition to meeting the eligibility requirements applicable to the referred case.

The ministry said the program provides support to eligible cases after an enforcement judgment is issued against the beneficiary.

The case is automatically referred by the Enforcement Court through electronic integration with the relevant authorities, after which the central committee reviews the case, determines the appropriate type of support, and completes the payment procedures within no more than 30 days from the date of referral by the enforcement judiciary.

The ministry noted that the program is one of the housing solutions targeting eligible families, aimed at supporting them when they are unable to pay rent due to circumstances beyond their control and helping maintain their housing stability.

The Housing Rent Support Program was established pursuant to Cabinet Resolution No. 405 and forms part of the developmental housing programs targeting eligible families. It provides housing solutions that contribute to family stability and social protection.
