Abo Moati servers hit by cyberattack

Abdullah Saad Mohammed Abo Moati for Bookstores Co. (Abo Moati) reported, on Dec. 8, a cyberattack on its servers, which affected the financial and sales systems in a number of the company’s branches.  

 

In a statement to Tadawul, Abo Moati affirmed that the IT department immediately took steps to retrieve and restore the systems, adding that all suspended branches are expected to gradually return to operation as of today, Dec. 11. 

 

The company will include financial impacts expected to be reflected on Q4 2022 financial results. 

 

Any developments in this regard will be announced later, the statement said.
