Bank loans to private sector, NFGEs rise 7% to SAR 3.54T in July

The private sector accounted for more than 92% of total loans in July, according to SAMA data.


Loans granted by Saudi banks to non-financial government entities (NFGEs) and the private sector rose 7% to SAR 3.54 trillion by the end of July 2026, compared to almost SAR 3.32 trillion in the same month a year earlier, according to the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).

 

The private sector accounted for more than 92% of total loans, while loans to NFGEs constituted approximately 8%, data showed.

Bank loans to the private sector increased by 6% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 3.26 trillion for the same month, data showed.

 

 

Meanwhile, loans granted to NFGEs jumped 20% YoY to about SAR 274 billion by the end of July.
