Residential mortgages to individuals up 7% to SAR 5.7B in June

Residential mortgage lending by banks to individuals in Saudi Arabia rose 7% year on year (YoY) to SAR 5.7 billion in June 2026, according to data from the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).
On a monthly basis, residential mortgage financing grew by 30%, or SAR 1.33 billion.
Banks signed about 8,800 residential mortgage contracts with individuals during the month.
The average value of new residential mortgage loans declined 10% YoY to SAR 645,400.
Residential villas accounted for the largest share of bank mortgage lending at SAR 3.63 billion, or 63.7% of the total in June.
Apartments followed at SAR 1.73 billion, while land plots accounted for SAR 341 million.
