Home loans to individuals down 9% to SAR 5.87B in July: SAMA

Residential mortgages granted to individuals by banks in Saudi Arabia declined 9% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 5.87 billion in July 2026.

 

Compared with the previous month, residential mortgage financing increased by SAR 171 million, or 3%.

 

 

According to data issued by SAMA, 9,600 mortgage contracts were concluded between banks and individuals in July.

 

 

 

 

 

Financing for residential villas accounted for the largest share of total mortgages provided by banks, at SAR 3.70 billion (63%).

 

Residential apartments came in second with SAR 1.82 billion, while financing for land plots reached approximately SAR 335 million.
